Song Lyrics of the New Album – Throne

The book of revelation is an absolutely fascinating book, because it gives a glimpse into the future. John, the writer of this biblical book, had spent three years with Jesus together, experienced the most incredible things with him and had finally become a witness to his crucifixion. 60 years later – banned on the island of Patmos during the reign of Emperor Domitian – John receives visions from God and writes down what he sees and hears. God, the Creator, revealed to him, how at the end of time He will devastate the earth and judge the people. The visions also show that people can escape condemnation, if they repent of their evil deeds during their lifetime and start to live for Jesus.

In the coming months we would like to take you on a journey through the Book of Revelation. We will post the lyrics of each of the songs and explain what the passages are about. Today, let’s start with the first song of the album: Throne. In this song God’s throne in heaven is described as depicted in Revelation chapter 4, verses 1 to 11. And we announce the general theme of the album using the words of revelation chapter 1, verses 1-3, “The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to show what must soon take place.” The complete lyrics are:

“Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come. Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.”

Before me was a door standing open in heaven and a voice like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place.” I saw someone with the appearance of carnelian sitting on a throne in heaven. A rainbow encircled the throne. And twenty-four other thrones with white dressed elders with golden crowns. From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. Seven lamps were blazing before the throne – the seven spirits of God.

“Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come. Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.”

Four living creatures were placed around the throne, the first like a lion, the second like on ox, the third like a man, the fourth like at eagle. Each had six wings and was covered with eyes. Whenever the creatures give glory, honor and thanks to the one on the throne the elders fall down and worship him. They lay their crowns before the throne and say, “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory, honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”

The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw — that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy. Day and night they never stop saying, “Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come. Holy is the Lord God Almighty.”
